 *  This Large blue-grey Sponge (Callyspongia vaginalis) is shown with prominent Brittlestar (Ophiothrix swensonii).  It is of interest to the diving naturalist that in several widely separated habitats we found Ophiothrix swensonii associated with the Demosponges Dasychalina cyathina , Gelloides ramosa, Verongia sp., and what we believe is are Agelus sp.. We have never found Brittlestars of any species associated with the Iridescent Glassy Sponge (Callyspongia plicifera).
