*To the visitor at Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada, a stop at the Vermillion Lakes will always prove rewarding.  It is a quick and easy trip, with something for every photographer or nature lover.  Many rewarding views are possible, with little or no exertion.  If you care to explore further, trails abound.   This view of Cattails and the warm autumn colors of the Grasses, contrasts with the snow-covered slopes of Mount Rundle in the distance.  The site of this photograph  is reached in about 10 minutes of walking. 

If you choose to explore, however, it is a good idea to be prepared for marshy areas.  Adequate, water resistant footgear will add to your comfort.
