Yellow Coneflower (Ratibida columnaris) pictured above was
found in a favorite wildflower location, the White Mountains
Wilderness Area of the Lincoln National Forest in New Mexico. Such
flowers may be seen in summer near roadsides, in fields and meadows, and aspen
groves along the Crest Trail, U.S. Forest Trail #
25. The Coneflower occurs in a number of color variations, incorporating various shades of maroon. |
