On the Pink Rope Sponge (Gelloides ramosa) are polyps of the symbiotic zoanthid (Parazoanthus swiftii) and Brittlestars (Ophiothrix swensonii).  Jackson Bay, Little Cayman Island Depth 45 feet or 14 meters.

 *  The above community consists of  pinkish Rope Sponges (Gelloides ramosa), small greenish symbiotic Zoanthids (Parazoanthus parasiticus), and Brittle Stars (Ophiothrix swensonii).  The common occurrence of similar ecological communities motivates our guess at the identity of the sponges .

In contrast with the colonial zoanthid (Parazoanthus swiftii), the zoanthid (Parazoanthus parasiticus) occurs as individual polyps.

Jackson Bay, Little Cayman Island - Depth 45 feet or 14 meters.
