*We were wandering along the west bank of the Rio Grande River on a windless day in late October. We were looking for autumn scenics, when we came upon a large, still pool. A huge formation of thunderclouds was towering above the Organ Mountains and the Mesilla Valley to the east, and as luck would have it, the Organ Mountains appeared as a perfect reflection. The scene was both beautiful and unique, a landscape worthy of recording. The extent of the pool, the size of the thundercloud, and the general drama of the scene was best captured by use of a vertical format. |
