Las Cruces, New Mexico ( June through September)
*The stunning flower of the night-blooming Harrisia jusbertii reaches a diameter more than six inches (fifteen centimeters). The Harrisia cactus is famed for its large, funnel-shaped, green throated flowers, from which it derives the common names 'Green Siren' or sometimes 'Midnight Princess'. We have heard that the comparative rarity of these plants is due to a property similar to the Peyote. |
