A dreamy image of Echinopsis (Trichocereus) x 'June Noon'. The large flowers of this beautiful hybrid generally open in the late night or early morning. Las Cruces, New Mexico (July) |
*Echinopsis (Trichocereus) x 'June Noon', developed by Dr. Mark Dimmitt of Tucson, Arizona. The contrast of the petal's canary yellow midrib and the translucent cream outer whorls contribute to its striking affect. The flowers open nocturnally, or sometimes early morning, and persists for two days. |
