It is a good idea to be out early if you would like to see the Organ Mountains Evening Primrose. This flower,
Oenothera organensis,
is found only in the Organ Mountains of New Mexico, and in sunny spots is frequently
closed by mid morning. Look for this flower in canyon seeps and springs at elevations of 5,700 to 7,600 feet.

In El Niño years it is especially abundant
- (June through September).
