* A tiny Shrimp (Periclimenes
yucatanicus) on a tentacle of the large Anemone (Condylactis
gigantea). It is interesting that the Periclimenes yucatanicus,
unlike the violet and white marked Periclimenes pedersonsoni,
does not seem to exhibit cleaning behavior. Both are often found
associated with Sea Anemones as pictured, but differ in behavior. Jackson Bay, Little Cayman Island - Depth 40 feet or 12 meters |
